Snowing

Today it snowed for the entire day and its pretty cool seeing all the things around you coated with snow. After my lessons, I went to the shopping mall looking for shoes as i desperately need a pair of waterproof ones. To my disappointment, i cant seem to find a pair which i really like and here i am, still stuck with the $7 dollar lousy shoe i bought when i first reached here. Haha, its so freaking lousy that the sole actually cracked and i slipped not once, not twice but 3 times while walking back to my hostel. Luckily for my superb sense of balance, i managed to recover almost immediately each time. I do not know how many times will i slip again tomorrow but for sure the $7 dollar shoe is going into the bin within the next week and i will NOT fall.

After finishing dinner, the whole group of us went for some snowball fighting and attempted to construct a snowman. I never knew making a snowman was so freaking difficult and sadly our snowman never got higher than 50cm. Hahaha, sad case... Will try again tomorrow if i have the time.

Long overdue update + Toronto Trip

If you all are wondering what happened to my assignment on mathlab, i am proud to announce that i have finally finished it! In the end, my code is correct (as mention long ago) and my output is correct too!! Apparently, the output is supposed to look weird initially and it will only give you the correct answer after you run it for a few times. Cant believe i actually took such a bloody long time to realise that.

Anyway, to reward myself, i went to Toronto over the weekend. Only Jared and Raine went along with me as the rest just loved their assignments so much that they couldnt bear to leave them behind. Nevertheless the trip was great! The chinese food there was simply fabulous and it was a real long time since i last eaten good chinese food. The cooks in my hostel should seriously take a break and come to Toronto to learn how to cook chinese food the right way. The funny tasting rice that they cook is seriously getting on my nerve. I really wonder why they have to cook rice at least once every week. Cant they just stick to western food????

On the second day in Toronto, the weather was simply terrific. We managed to meet up with Jared's friends who are having their exchange program in Toronto together with some of the Singaporeans studying in University of Toronto. We had lunch in a Korean resturant and i was amazed that some of his friends recognised me as an alumni of Nanyang Primary School. Lol, what a small world. Sadly, i dun remember who the hell they are though they told me they are from my primary school too. Hahaha

Next stop, meeting Raine's friend. When we met her, she too said she saw me before. This time round in National JC.... Wow! This is getting exciting man, the whole world seems to know me... Think i better keep a low profile before people start asking me for autographs when i am walking on the streets. Hahaha. Suddenly it dawn upon me that me too have a friend in Toronto. He even specifically told me to visit him if i am coming down someday and gave me his phone number. As most pple would have guessed, i lost his phone number.. wahahha, damn, think he is seriously going to kill me if he finds out that i visited Toronto without meeting him.. Haha, Sorry dude! Dun worry, i will definitely go Toronto again soon.. Haha

Shopping takes up the rest of our day and i am just so glad that i came for this trip. It really added some much needed life into my monotonous studying life for the pass 2 weeks. To ensure that my life remains this way,  i have decided that i will go Niagara again next week. Hahaha, Niagara, get ready to welcome me!!!!

For some weird reasons, i cant seem to upload the photos on my blog... Damn, will try again when i have the time later.

Still stuck in the sea of assignments

Ok, it has been close to a week since i last blogged and its all the stupid mathlab's fault. Yes, it is the SAME damn code that i blogged about long ago. Apparently the stupid program still refuses to accept that my code is correct. Think it wun be long b4 i start smashing it up. I have even rewritten my code using another solving method and still it gave me the SAME wrong output. What the hell is wrong with it man.... Subconsciously  i have this feeling that the prof is trying to play around with us and my output is actually correct although it looks wrong. Finally i understand the meaning of looks can be deceiving...

Projects... Assignments....

Its been a while since i last blogged but it is even longer since i last skated. Damn the stupid projects and assignments. Today i spent almost the whole day in the workshop manufacturing the prototype for my project. Damn i feel like a construction worker man... Doing all the sawing and cutting of aluminium, i bet my body aluminium content rose by more than 100% today due to all the aluminium powder that is flying all over the air while i ripped the saw thru it. Finally after 8 hours of hard work, the prototype is done. Haha, will post a picture of it when i have the time. Time for some rest now...

Continuation of Western Canada Tour Day 2 Part 2

Haha, from where i left off, Stanley Park was pretty boring, no doubt its big with lots of stuff but they are all boring stuff. Furthermore it started to drizzle when we reached there. This is when i really start to appreciate the weather here. In Singapore when it starts to drizzle, it sucks, cause you will start to sweat too (for me at least) and when sweat and water integrate, you basically feel like shit. Here, when it rain, you just feel wet and cold you will never really sweat which is GOOD! Back on track, basically Stanley Park is for those people who like to cycle/ run/ blade as they have a pretty decent running path round the park beside the sea which is pretty cool. Enough said, time for some pictures!

Ok, for some reason, i am having some difficulties uploading my photos... Haha, will upload it another time when i am free. Hee. If you all are desperate, you can actually view all my photos at http://tommyong.fotopages.com.
